I had a mixed experience at the Motel One Edinburgh-Royal. The location was really good, right in the heart of the city and close to everything I wanted to see. However, I faced some issues with room cleanliness, which was a letdown. The staff was friendly and accommodating, which helped balance out the negatives and overall, I think this place has great potential.

I didn't eat at the motel, but the bar area was nicely decorated. I tried some cocktails but they were a bit disappointing compared to the vibe of the place.

The hotel had modern amenities like a smart TV and hairdryer, plus tea and coffee making facilities in the room which I loved. Just wished it was a bit cleaner.

7.2/10

My stay at Motel One Edinburgh-Royal was quite pleasant overall, with an excellent location and friendly staff. The room was clean and comfortable, although the breakfast felt overpriced for what was offered. I appreciated its centrality, making it easy to explore the city, but there were minor issues, such as some noise from the hallway.

Rooms
8.0
My room was larger than I expected, very quiet, and well-equipped with modern amenities like a smart TV. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shower worked perfectly.
Service
9.0
Check-in was fast, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. They even had a room ready for me when I arrived early.
Location
10.0
The location is unbeatable; it was just across from the bus station and only a short walk to all major attractions like the Royal Mile. I felt truly immersed in the charm of Edinburgh.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast had a cozy atmosphere, and while I enjoyed it, I found the cost a bit steep given the limited offerings and ended up seeking alternatives nearby.
Facilities

The hotel had a nicely decorated bar and lobby area, which made for a relaxing vibe after a long day of sightseeing. However, I would have appreciated extra amenities like a telephone in the room.

6.6/10

I had mixed feelings about my stay. The location was fantastic, right next to the train station and close to major attractions, which made exploring Edinburgh easy. However, my initial room was cramped and had a skylight that didn't block out light, making it hard to sleep. Additionally, I faced some noise issues from outside and a rather high parking fee, which added to my disappointments.

Rooms
5.0
The room I was given was quite small and did not have a proper window; it only had a skylight. The noise from outside was quite disturbing, especially late at night. Though it was clean, the comfort level was lacking due to its size and the heat.
Service
6.0
The reception staff were a bit indifferent to my concerns when I raised issues about my room. While they were polite, they didn't offer any real solutions or assistance regarding the noise or the skylight problem.
Location
9.0
Being located right across from the train station was incredibly convenient, making it easy to reach all the major sites in Edinburgh. I found the location perfect for sightseeing and accessing public transport.
Dining
6.0
The hotel offered light dining options. However, I found prices a bit steep for snacks; nearly £6 for a bottle of water and crisps felt excessive. The breakfast options were also limited but adequate.
Facilities
7.0
The amenities were standard for a boutique hotel, with the cleanliness well-maintained. I appreciated having good Wi-Fi, though the bar could have had a more varied drink selection.

I had a mixed experience at Motel One Edinburgh-Royal. The location was unbeatable, just a stone's throw from the Royal Mile and Waverley Station, making it ideal for exploring the city. However, the room was quite warm, and I struggled with the temperature control, which made my stay a bit uncomfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating, which brightened my experience. Overall, there's a lot to love about this hotel, but a few improvements are needed.

Rooms
6.0
My room was modern and immaculate but lacked sufficient storage space and had temperature control issues. I had a lovely en suite, but the overall temperature was an issue during my stay.
Service
7.0
The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, helping me with my early check-in and luggage storage. However, I did find some interactions less attentive than expected, especially when I raised concerns about my room.
Location

Motel One's location is really good, right by the Christmas Markets and within easy reach of major attractions in Edinburgh. I couldn’t have asked for a better spot to explore the city.
Dining

The breakfast area was cozy, but I found the options somewhat limited. The bar was lively and had a decent selection, though the prices felt a bit steep.
Facilities
6.0
Overall, the hotel facilities were well-maintained, but I noticed some areas lacked charm, such as the dark hallways. While the amenities were modern, the absence of air conditioning was disappointing.

My stay at Motel One Edinburgh-Royal was good overall. The location is simply really good, being so close to the train station and major attractions like the Royal Mile. I loved the friendly staff and the cleanliness of my room, though I did find the scarcity of power sockets a bit inconvenient. The ambiance of the lobby bar was cozy, making it a lovely place to unwind after a day of exploring. 🍀✨

Rooms

The room was clean, spacious, and had a comfortable bed, though I noticed there was only one power socket available, which was inconvenient. I enjoyed a lovely view over Princes Street, and the decor was quite modern.

Location

The hotel's location is fantastic, right next to Waverley Station and a short walk from popular sites like Edinburgh Castle and the Christmas markets. This made sightseeing incredibly convenient.
Dining

The breakfast buffet had a decent variety of options, though I felt it was on the pricey side for what was offered. I opted to explore local cafes instead, which were nearby.
Facilities

The facilities were well-maintained, with a lovely lobby area and bar that offered a relaxing atmosphere. The absence of a fully stocked kitchen in the room was noted, though I didn't mind as I enjoyed eating out.
